Nightmarchers Tiki Mug

Originally designed by the 2021 Gargantuas artist collective: Bigtoe, Ken Ruzic, Doug Horne and McBiff, sculpted by Tom Thordarson, aka Thor, and TikiLand Trading Co. to be released as a limited edition bowl, and with the intent to eventually release a follow-up mug with a bit wider availability, we're proud to finally introduce the NIGHTMARCHERS Mug - an 18oz personal-sized version of it's much larger sibling!

This mug features a round/conical 'volcano' in the center of the 4 pillars, as well as designs and patterns on the walls of the conical center that are unique to this mug (as compared to the bowl which has a lava type texture).

The Hawaiian legend of the Nightmarchers:

"On the nights honoring the Hawaiian gods Kāne, Kū, Lono, or on the nights of Kanaloa they are said to come forth from their burial sites, or to rise up from the ocean, and to march in a large group to ancient Hawaiian battle sites or other sacred places. The legend says the night marchers are warriors, dressed for battle, carrying spears, clubs, and some are beating war drums and blowing tones from conch shells, to announce the advancing of their march. According to the myth, they are suspended in air; their feet do not touch water or ground as they traverse through the night, and they leave no evidence of their visitations.

They march in darkness after sunset and march as a group continuously until just before sunrise. Anyone living along their path may hear chanting, sounds of blown conch shell tones, and marching noises in the night. The following signs are a foul and musky “death-like” odor, and torches getting brighter and brighter as the night marchers get closer.

Nightmarchers might appear during the day if they are to escort a dying relative to the spirit world."

This mug holds about 18oz (varies slightly mug to mug), is about 4.5 inches tall, and 5 inches wide.
Shipping Info: In theory, this mug could start shipping as early as 6-8 months from now, however if there are global production and shipping delays again it could take longer. In order to set conservative expectations upfront, we're going to say that this mug may not ship until early-mid 2024.
SHIPPING: If ordered with other items, these mugs will ship separately and this will be reflected in your shipping cost of your order.

Note about import production: These mugs are being produced with one of our tried and tested production partners. All mugs will have passed through multiple rounds of quality control before being shipped out.
These are ceramic mugs intended for cold or room temperature beverages only.
All of our ceramics are handmade. Each mug varies slightly and is unique, and is not the exact mug photographed here, although we try for it to be as identical as possible when produced by hand. During ceramic production sometimes there can be small variations with glaze, color, texture, cleanup, etc.
We guarantee mugs not to arrive with structural cracks or chips, and will replace them at our expense if they arrive to you in this condition.

While technically this can be put in a dishwasher, we only recommend hand washing as this is a functional piece of art.

I love the items that came with the membership. I do NOT like how the sales go about. I believe members should have at a minimum 12-24 hrs advance notice on sales. In most cases sales are advertised on the site before it drops in members emails. Basically there’s no advantage of being a member (except a small discount) unless your after the exclusive mug. I don’t regret but doubt I’ll do again. I personally joined in hopes I can catch limited quantity mugs before offered to others. Simply not the case. I still LOVE TikiLand!

Aloha Jeff, thanks for being a member. All limited release or limited edition (by number) mugs (and sometimes other items too) are listed for members only a day in advance. This year multiple of these early, members only, releases have actually sold out and the mugs were never offered to non-members.
