Nice glass straws. Could be more bamboo like.
Apologies for copypasta between different colors and lengths.
I ordered a bunch.
Box marked as:
Laguna Trading Co.
Comes with a nice pipe cleaner
They have a good mouth feel.
They seem to be the ones TLTC uses when staging the mug photos.
I love the colors and variety.
The straws seem durable but, given the price, I've not been able to bring myself to do drop or temperature tests.
-----------------------------------------------------
Given the scarcity of this style of straw on the market, I have to include a quick comparison to the TheKonTigoTikiBar ones.
Neither have care instructions or material information included.
From their respective pages:
Materials
TLTC: "Glass"
TKTTB: "Borosilicate Glass"
Care:
TLTC: "Hand wash with warm soapy water"
TKTTB: "Dishwasher & Microwave Safe. BPA Free, Non-Porous and Hypo-Allergenic. Hot and Cold approved".
This has me a bit worried that the TLTC ones can't deal with hot liquids.
I find the TLTC included pipe cleaners to be easier to use. The TKTTB provided one is made from bamboo, which seems gimmicky now that Ive used them both.
While I would always suggest giving anything you are going to put into your mouth a good wash first, the TLTC ones seemed to come clean and ready to go. The TKTTB ones definitely needed a wash.
The color options for TLTC are more wide, and the cost of $4 (at the time) per straw is definitely better than the ~$7 for the TKTTB.
The colors themselves are very close, with the exception of the dark green, which is more saturated with the TKTTB option.
For mouth feel, they are similar, with no sharp edges and a fairly thick wall. The diameter of the TKTTB is a bit wider, which I do appreciate.
The long glass straws (10”) will work perfectly with my variety of Tiki Mugs, and they look good too. I liked the fact a cleaner brush was included with the sets. I don’t recall that being mentioned in the product description. My friends/guests will get a kick out of not only the unique mugs, but also the straws that go so well with them. Very glad that I decided to make this purchase. I was also impressed with the way the straws were so carefully packaged and shipped so there could be almost no chance of breakage (just as with the Tiki mugs).
