This one comes from a collaboration with Jason Alexander of Devil's Reef in Tacoma — a bar that takes its Lovecraft as seriously as its rum. The idea is simple and a little wicked: bright, sun-ripened pineapple run through dark blackstrap molasses. Top notes from the beach, bottom notes from somewhere considerably deeper. Three ingredients: pineapple juice, cane sugar, blackstrap.
It powers the Devil Reef's signature pour — two ounces of dark rum, one ounce of this, and the elder gods eat last — and it's just as comfortable with whiskey as with rum, where the molasses reads almost like barrel char. In soda water it makes a no-proof drink with actual gravity to it. Not every syrup should be this dark. This one should.
Once opened, refrigerate and use within 90 days — unopened, it keeps for two years from the date of manufacture.
When I receive my initial order of two glasses in the mail, one was broken. They promptly replaced it without any issue. Very happy with their customer service and their product! Happy with their customer service and their product!
I was so excited when my mugs arrived! The packaging was solid, everything arrived safe and my goodness these mugs are even more beautiful in person! I got 2 Whoopsie mugs and I can't find any defect on them- they feel very high quality and I can't wait to impress friends with these tiki mugs! Outstanding creativity in all the designs as well!
Great addition to the Tiki-themed space in my home office.
Don't know why it's considered a whoopsie, it looks great.
Under the lighting I use it looks more like a carved wooden statue than a ceramic figurine. Love that look.
